Eight killed in separate mishaps in Khairpur district

KHAIRPUR: Eight people were killed and over 178 hurt in different road accidents in district Khairpur during Eid day.

Two motorcycles collided near Jandho Shakh on old National Highway within the jurisdiction of Kumb police station, killing three people, Darghah Dino Rind, Aitbar Ali Mahar and Abdul Jabbar Mahar, on the spot, while six people, including Qasid Ali, Hidayatullah, and Ali Rafique Marri were injured.

The bodies and injured were brought to Taluka Hospital Kot Diji from where due to absence of doctors, they were shifted to Civil Hospital Khairpur. The bodies were sent to their village after autopsies from local hospital.

In another incident, Fida Hussain, 22, son of Imdad Solangi, resident of Sobho village, died after crashing a motorcycle into a car near Momin Mahar bus stop. His friend Ali Hassan was injured.

A man, Khalid Hussain Sheikh, died after a speeding car hit his motorcycle on Thari Mirwah Link Road near Setharja. His body was sent to his relatives after medico-legal formalities.

In a separate incident, Zahid Kamboh, resident of Sukker, died on Piryaloi Link Road after his motorcycle collided with another motorcycle near Pir Jo Goth. His body was sent to Sukker by Baberloi police station after medico-legal formalities.

The body of unidentified man was brought to Gambat Hospital by Tando Musti police who was killed by speedy car near Moosani bus stop on National Highway.

In another accident, a youth, Sajid Ali Phulpoto, died and another hurt near Tharhi bridge Khairpur on Old National Highway. The body and injured were brought to Civil Hospital Khairpur.

Apart from these accidents, over 178 people were injured in various road accidents in all eight talukas of the district and discharged after treatments from various hospitals while cases could not be registered due to Eid holidays.
