Election of 4 Nazims for PFC on Friday

Peshawar: The KP government has announced the schedule for election of for nazims to represent local governments in the Provincial Finance Commission (PFC). The election will be held today on Friday at District Council Hall Peshawar wherein Secretary LG&RD Syed Jamaluddin Shah has been appointed Returning Officer while Senior Minister LG&RD Inayat Ullah Khan has been assigned the task to supervise the entire election process.

Under the new formula four Nazims will be directly elected for PFC by the present lot of 23 district and 68 Tehsil, Town Nazimeen as the previous procedure of nominating two nazims by the provincial government has been ceased while the LG representation has also been doubled. All the district and tehsil nazims have been summoned to Peshawar for the purpose except that of Kohistan and Bannu where cases are pending.

As per election program, nomination papers by the interested nazims could be filed from 10 to 11 am on October 9, 2015 (today), at District Council Hall Peshawar after which two representatives of Distt Nazims for PFC would be elected between 11 am to 12 noon.

Similarly nomination papers by the tehsil, town nazims could be filed on the same day and venue from 2 to 3 pm, where after their two reps would be elected between 3:30 to 4:30 pm. The detailed procedure and instructions of the election will be announced by the RO before the start of election process.
