Elevator not functioning in CHK

Karachi: The elevator of Civil Hospital Karachi has not functioning due to some technical faults for last two days and the hospital administration is unable to get it repaired as yet.

An official of Civil Hospital Karachi told PPI that patients suffering from different diseases are facing great hardships from last two days as elevator of the five-storied hospital building is out of order. He said shifting of patients from emergency to other departments has become very difficult for attendants and volunteers due to non-working elevator.

He informed that hundreds of patients of Kidney, Surgical Ward 3, 4, 5, Plastic Surgery, Gynaecology Ward 1 to 3 and Intestine Ward have been facing hardships due to non-working of elevator. He said shifting of patients from one floor to another through staircase is very difficult task.

Visiting patients and their attendants have demanded of the hospital administration for early repair of elevator.

Medical Superintendent, CHK Prof Muhammad Saeed Qureshi said was not available for comment despite several attempts.
