Peshawar: The issue of regularization of EPI (Extended Program of Immunization) Project’s contract staff will be placed before the provincial cabinet for consideration. This was decided at a high level meeting held at CM Secretariat on Tuesday with Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pervez Khattak in the chair.

The Chief Secretary, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Amjad Ali Khan, Additional Chief Secretary Dr. Hamad Agha, Secretary Health Mushtaq Jadoon, Secretary Law, Mohammad Arifeen and other concerned officers attended the meeting.

The meeting reviewed the demand of EPI staff in legal perspective and discussed various options regarding regularization of the staff.

Chief Minister Pervez Khattak expressed concern over the delays occurred in dealing with the demand and made it clear that decision whatsoever in this connection must be taken purely in the public interest. He, however, directed the Health department to keep in view the need of the public sector hospitals for the EPI contract staff while examining their demand for regularization.
