EPI starts renovation of cold-storage building

KARACHI: Expended Program on Immunization in collaboration of UNICIEF and Health Department Sindh has started renovation work of old cold-storage building in order to protect vaccination from weather intensity in summer and also from rains.

Deputy Project Manager, Expended Program on Immunization (EPI) Sindh, Dr Durray Naz Jamal said old cold storage building of EPI has been in deteriorated state since long where vaccination of nine different diseases including polio is stored. She said vaccination worth of millions of rupees was stored in cold storage and renovation of building was necessary to protect the vaccination from climate intensity.

She informed vaccinations had been safely shifted to nearby cold storages before the initiating renovation of old building where air-conditioners and other facilities are being arranged to maintain proper temperature. She said with completion of renovation work we will able to store our vaccinations in a better way in near future.
