Eradication of TB from is a challenge, Minister

Peshawar: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Health, Shaukat Ali Yousafzai has said that eradication of TB from the province was a challenge for us and to achieve the results, all resources would be utilized, which were necessary to activate and improve public Health Sector.

This, he said, while addressing a seminar regarding World TB-Day, at a Local Hotel in Peshawar, on Monday.

Minister for Religious Affairs, Haji Habib Ur Rehman , Secretary Health, Ghulam Qadir Khan , Director TB Control, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Dr. Ubaid Hussain , Doctors and other concerned were also present in large number.

Speaking on the occasion, Minister Health Said that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was facing numerous Troubles and combined efforts was cry of the day to overcome the issues and want to root out TB from the Province and would use all resources to achieve the desired goal.

Shaukat Yousafzai directed Secretary Health to appoint District TB Officers in Districts of Kohat, Karak , Bannu, Mansehra alongwith three other Districts.

He Said that 1.6 Million Children would be given anti-Polio Drops and vaccination to save them from diseases on one single day.

Minister Health said that the provincial government has a clear policy, upon its implementation, the ignored public and far flung rural areas would be facilitated with basic health facilities, he added.

He further said that a special procedure had been introduced for the transparency of Insulin Bank , District Hospitals were given autonomy , Hepatitis centre was going to be established soon and first burn centre of the province would be completed till May, 2014, the Minister informed.

He urged the masses to participate in the walk about awareness of Dengue Virus to be held on March 25 (Tuesday) in Peshawar.

Later, talking to media , Shaukat Yousafzai said “we are hopeful about the success of peace talks with TTP but anti-Talks elements are trying to sabotage these talks through Anti State activities thus we must work together to stop them” he maintained.

He said that the provincial Government was cooperative to Federal Government regarding peace talks. In reply to a question, about Hazara Province, the Minister said that PTI was in favour of New Provinces on the basis of Administrative separation wile suggestion had been given to central government to change name of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to Hazara Pakhtunkhwa so that their voices can be heard throughout” he concluded .
