KARACHI: University of Karachi’s Registrar Prof Dr Moazam Ali Khan said on Thursday that the Vice Chancellor took action against a student on the recommendations of disciplinary committee which had probed the matter of the visit of model Ayyan Ali to the campus and it was widely believed that this visit of a controversial personality has damaged the prestigious reputation of the university.

However, the student still has the right of appeal and if his request is genuine, the admission of the rusticated student could be restored again in the same department, the registrar said while talking.

It may be noted that model Ayyan Ali, who is currently on bail in money laundering case, has recently visited well-esteemed University of Karachi (UoK) on the invitation of Araib Khan and ex-student Abdullah Rizwan Sheikh, students of ‘Department Of Public Administration’ to deliver a lecture and inaugurate a brand within the university premises.

After her visit, the University’s administration took notice and rusticated Araib and banned entry of ex-Student Rizwan Sheikh in campus.

The UoK’s stern action against student was criticized by some quarters.
