Explosive material case: Accused remanded to police custody

KARACHI: An Anti-Terrorism Court-III (ATC-III) on Tuesday remanded accused Mohammad Shahid to police custody till 29 September 2014 in an explosive material case.

Police produced the accused before ATC-III judge under tight security. Investigation officer requested the court that police needed investigation and physical custody of the accused to trace his connections and other accomplices in the crime. The court accepted the police request and remanded the accused to police custody till 29 September.

The court also directed the police to produce accused on 30 September.

According to police, accused was arrested during snap checking within the jurisdiction of Nabi Bux police Station on 22 September.

Police claimed to have recovered a hand grenade and illegal arms from the accused possession.

The case FIR 204/2014 was lodged under Section 4/5 of the Explosive Substance Act at the Nabi Bux police station
