Extension of CNG bus route demanded

KARACHI: A human rights organization, Saiban International Welfare Organisation (SIWO) has appealed from Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah to expand the route of recently inaugurated CNG bus from Quaidabad to Tower to Gulshan-e-Hadeed to Tower.

This was said by Senior Vice Chairman SIWO Saleem Khan, General Secretary SIWO Hyder Ali Hyder, Joint Secretary SIWO Fatah Muhammad Qureshi and Secretary Coordination SIWO Fakhrunnisa Fakhar in a joint statement issued on Saturday.

They pointed out that the rout on which the CNG buses have started plying has already been occupied by several buses such as Metro Bus 16-D, 16, and Marwat coach, while on the Gulshan-e-Hadeed to Tower route there was only one bus, Muslim coach, whose disrespecting drivers and conductors had made the lives of people hell.

“Usually, Muslim coach passengers are made to vacate the coach at Quaid Abad as a result the passengers have to pay double fare,” they said.

The leaders of SIWO said transportation was more required by millions of residents of Gulshan-e-Hadeed, Steel Town and other adjacent areas rather than the residents of Quaidabad.
