FAPUASA, KUTS demand Rs50mn for Dr Waheed’s family

KARACHI: Federation of All Pakistan Universities Academic Staff Association’ (FAPUASA) President Dr Naimatullah Laghari, Sindh Chapter President Dr Ayaz Kerio, and Karachi University Teachers’ Society’ (KUTS) President Dr Jamil kazmi have strongly condemned Sindh government’s act of sanctioning only Rs 1.5 million out of Rs 30 million compensation for bereaved family of Prof Dr Waheed-ur-Rehman.

They rejected approval of Rs 1.5 million and demanded of the government Rs 50 million compensation for the bereaved family.

In a statement issued by KUTS here on Wednesday, Dr Naimatullah rejected the sanction only 15 Lakh rupees for the family of deceased teacher Dr. Waheed ur Rehman.

He said Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah had approved three demands of KUTS delegation in a meeting held in last May in which they were also assured for issuance of Rs 30 million to the bereaved family soon.

Dr Ayaz said the pathetic attitude of yjr government should be changed towards the bereaved family.

Prof. Dr. Jamil Kazmi also demanded of the government for immediately sanctioning Rs50million compensation. He warned that if their demands were not met soon, KUTS would again strongly protest against the government and boycott classes after Ramzan.
