FINAL UPDATED: Three cops among eight fall prey to Karachi violence

KARACHI: Eight persons, including three policemen and a doctor, were killed, while one other was injured in different violence incidents in the city on Wednesday.

According to Station House Officer (SHO) Zaman town, unidentified criminals shot dead SI Sahib Dino, aged 50, at Matkay Wali Pulia. He was resident of Barrack No. 4, PS Awami colony.

He was in police uniform and suffered bullet in his head from rear side. He was posted at Sindh Reserve Police. The body was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for an autopsy.

Separately, two policemen, Khurram, 40, son of Kamal, and Junaid Akram, 38, son of Javed Akram, were shot dead and another pedestrian, Saddam, 14, son of Saleem, injured by unknown armed bike riders at Nagan Roundabout in New Karachi. They were shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH).

Dr Naseem Hussain Jaffri, 50, son of Amanat Hussain Jaffri, was shot dead by armed men in Korangi No 5 ½ . The body was shifted to JPMC for medico-legal formalities.

A 35-year-old man, Abdullah, son of Rafique, was shot dead by unknown armed men at Orangi Town No 1. The body was shifted to ASH for a postmortem examination.

Hafiz Mehboob Shah, 45, son of Dost Muhammad Shah, was killed by unidentified armed culprits at Bilal Roundabout in Korangi. The body was shifted to JPMC for medico-legal formalities.

Muhammad Zahid, 50, son of Mir Hassan, was shot dead by unknown armed motorcyclists at Qasba Colony No 2 ½ in Orangi Town. The body was shifted to ASH for an autopsy.

Separately, an unidentified man was shot dead by unknown armed man in Lyari near Ghareeb Shah shrine. The body was shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi for postmortem examination.
