Five dead in city mishaps

KARACHI: Two persons were gunned down and two others were injured in firing incidents, while three other people were found dead, here on Tuesday. A man and son, Abdul Rashid, 50, and Mohsin, 25, were gunned down by unidentified armed men near Sabri Chowk, Orangi Town. The bodies were shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) for medico-legal formalities. The motive behind attack could not be ascertained.

In another incident, police found the dead body of an unknown woman, aged 26, from Malir Nadi near Mehran Garden and shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for autopsy.

Meanwhile, a man, Jawed, 40, son of Qadir, committed suicide by hanging himself in his residence in Korangi. According to rescue sources, the deceased was found dead at his house and shifted to JPMC for an autopsy.

Separately, one Irfan, 35, son of Mohammad Ali, was shot injured by unknown armed men near Kashmir Colony traffic signal. He was shifted to JPMC for treatment.

Yet in another incident, a man named Waqar, 30, son of Yousuf Ali, was injured in firing by unidentified attackers near Port Qasim. He was brought to JPMC for treatment.

Meanwhile, the body of unknown man with severe torture marks, packed in a gunny bag, was found near Siddiq Ground cemetery Rizvia Society. The body was shifted to ASH for an autopsy.
