Five killed in city

KARACHI: Five persons lost their lives in different violence in the city on Tuesday. Police found a dead body from the sea at Kala Pani area in limits of Docks Police Station. Later it was identified as Owais Jakhrani, 25, son of Ali Sher Jakhrani, Ex Additional Inspector General of Police (AIGP) Legal. The body had been shifted to Edhi Morgue two day before; however, after the identification by heirs it was shifted to Jacobabad for burial.

In this regard, Additional Inspector General of Police (AIGP) Karachi Ghulam Qadir Thebo said that deceased, Owais Jakhrani, was involved in attack on Dockyard and killed in retaliation fire of security forces.

In a separate incident, police claimed that unknown gunmen opened fire near Cheel Chowk in Lyari that killed two persons. The deceased included a man Zubair, 34, son of Kareem Bux and his young son Rauf, 4 years old.

The bodies were shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK) for medico-legal formalities.

In another incident, two passersby were killed by two unknown motorcyclists in Orangi town Sector 11 ½.

After the incident the bodies were shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) for an autopsy.

Station House Officer (SHO) PS Saudabad informed that armed accused gunned down Rasheed, 24, near Student Bakery Malir Khokrapar over personal enmity while the accused managed to flee. The body was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate medical Center (JPMC) for medico-formalities.

In another firing incident on a shop in Orangi town No 10, two persons named Ghulam Haider, 33, son of Munawar, and Babar, 50, Ghulam were killed by unknown assailants. Bodies were shifted to ASH for an autopsy.

The sources said the accused were on motorcycle and managed to escape.
