Floods: (Pak Army continues relief operations in flood hit areas)

ISLAMABAD: Pak Army has been continuing relief operations in flood hit areas in Chitral and districts in Southern Punjab. In Chitral, Pak Army has opened roads linking Chitral with Raish, Boni Gilgit and Giraat Berod roads.

According to reports, the Chitral Scouts set up Army Medical Camp in Chitral and Pak Army at Kotmithan in District Rajanpur where hundreds of people are being provided treatment facilities. Pak Army shifted 903 people to safer areas by helicopters in Chitral.

Meanwhile, relief operation is also in progress in Layyah, Dera Ghazi Khan and Rajanpur districts. One thousand people have been shifted to safer places in Layyah and adjoining areas. Two thousand seventy three people have been treated in medical camps in these districts.

The Sindh government has set up fifty relief and medical camps near the Bank of Indus River at Bakrani, Dhokri and Aqil Agani. Fifteen government places have also been turned into emergency relief camps.

Meanwhile, Division Commissioner Larkana told Radio Pakistan’s correspondent Noor Hussain Chand that people of Katcha areas are being shifted to safer places. They are also be provided with food and other necessities of life.

Moreover, Pak Army is patrolling sensitive areas along the Bank of River Indus including Aqil Agani Nusrat Loop bund, Moria Qadirpur, Torhi Ruk and Shaink Bund.
