For a stronger democratic system, bench and bar have to play their active role, Inayatullah

Peshawar: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Senior Minister for Local Government Inayatullah has said that for a stronger democratic system in Pakistan, the bench and bar have to play their active role.

This he said while addressing the Bar Council at Tangi, Charsadda on Wednesday. President High Court Bar Association Charsadda, Fida Gul Advocate, President Tangi Bar Council Haji Ibrahim, Mohammad Riaz Khan, Tehsil Nazim Yahya Khan and other were also present on the occasion. He said Pakistan came into being due to political efforts of an advocate Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah.

He said at present, the democratic system was the result of political efforts of lawyers. He said for the promulgation of law based supremacy system in the country, the lawyers, and judges have to play their due role side by side the political parties.

Inayatullah further said that Allah Almighty has bestowed our province with the huge natural resources and the southern districts of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were abundant in oil and gas resources.

He said a survey had shown that 33000 megawatt electricity could be produced in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province however it needed judicious use of country resources for the welfare of the people of the homeland. He said four lakh acres land of southern districts would be irrigated due to construction of Chashma Right Bank Canal that would fulfil the food requirements of the province.
