Foreign media men visit firing hit villages

SIALKOT: A team of foreign media visited the Indian shelling hit border villages in Charwah Sector of Sialkot Working Boundary here Tuesday.

The foreign media men met the Indian shelling affected people and sought detail from them about unprovoked intensified Indian shelling targeting the civilian population, which caused big losses of their properties and cattle as well

They inquired about the health of several people injured by the Indian shelling on villages near border during visit to the Combine Military Hospital (CMH) here.

Earlier, Sector Commander Chenab Rangers Brig. Waseem gave detailed briefing to the visiting foreign media men about the recent Indian BSF hostilities at border villages here. He said that Indian BSF targeted the civilian population in Sialkot border villages, violating the Ceasefire Accord.

He added that the Indian BSF was targeting civilian population in Sialkot border villages on eve of every religious festival in Pakistan since 2013, violating the Ceasefire Accord especialy for the last two consecutive years.

Brig. Waseem said “Chenab Rangers are the most committed professionally than the Indian Border Security Forces (BSF)”, as they are not targeting the Indian civilian population”.

He ruled out any possibility of infiltration towards Indian from Sialkot Working Boundary, saying that the Indian BSF had already erected larger scale fencing on border , leaving no way of infiltration there.
