As the deadline for confirmation of participation passed on August 8, four countries namely India, Maldives, Nepal and Afghanistan confirmed participation.
“Sri Lanka and Bangladesh have not yet confirmed participation. But they have both cited the same reason that that they were waiting for clearance from their governments. Sri Lankan federation has even emailed us the letter they have sent to their government seeking clearance to come and play in Pakistan,” Pakistan Netball Federation (PNF) secretary Mudassir Arain told PPI.
He added that PNF has decided that they would wait till Monday for the two teams’ confirmation and then they would send arriving teams’ names to the government for clearance here.
The tournament has once been postponed. The event was initially scheduled to be held from June 23 to 26 however Pakistan Netball Federation (PNF) had to postpone the event because they were unable to get the green signal from government authorities to host the foreign teams.
