Good Monsoon Rains Predicted in first week of Sep

QUETTA: Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) predicted good monsoon rains in the country during first week of September 2014.

Spokesman of PMD informed that a Weather System (Low Pressure Area) has developed over northwest Bay of Bengal that is likely to move westward in the coming days. Under the influence of this Weather System monsoon currents will start to penetrate in Pakistan from Sunday/Monday. Widespread rain/thunderstorm with isolated heavy falls is expected in Sindh from Monday to Wednesday, while scattered rain/thunderstorm is also expected in Punjab, Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa, eastern parts of Balochistan and Kashmir during the coming week.

Met Office informed that two to three Weather Systems (Low Pressure Areas) are expected to develop in Bay of Bengal during the coming two weeks that may strengthen the monsoon in the region including Pakistan.
