Governor addresses 12th Business Excellence Award 2013-14July 29, 2015
Peshawar: The Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sardar Mahtab Ahmed Khan has assured both the national and international investors that by the grace of Almighty Allah not only in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa but also in the Federally Administered Tribal Areas there is now suitable environment for investment and called upon them to take advantage of the situation and divert their investment to KP and FATA.
He said in Bara tehsil all the small industrial units closed since 2009 had been reopened and now about 150 big industrial units were being reopened for which the industrialists were being provided all the facilities as well.
He was addressing the 12th Business Excellence Award 2013-14 arranged by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chamber of Commerce and Industries in Peshawar last night. The Federal Minister for Finance Senator Ishaq Dar, Governor State Bank Arshad Mahmood Vetra, Chairman FBR Tariq Bajwa, Auditor General Asad Amin, President KPCCI Fawad Ishaq, President Businessman Forum Senator Ilyas Bilour, Senator Mohsin Aziz, office-bearers of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chamber of Commerce and Industries, high officers and leading industrialists attended the function.
The governor said the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Senator Ishaq Dar deserve commendation who had announced a historical financial package for the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the budget 2015-16.
He said by this package economy of the province would go towards better stability and the business community would find the relief package very beneficial for their welfare.
Governor Sardar Mahtab Ahmad Khan expressed gratitude to the Federal Minister Finance Senator Ishaq Dar on his coming to Peshawar and encouraging the prime business community of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
He said the visit of Senator Ishaq Dar and giving best performance awards to the businessmen of KP was a matter of great honour for him. He said by this way better relationship would be developed between the government and the business community.
The governor also felicitated the KPCCI president, his cabinet and chairman of the 12thBusiness Excellence Awards 2013-14 on holding a successful function. He said the businessmen of KP and FATA were greatly suffered due to war on terror.
He said in spite of law and order situation they had continued their activities. He said the government was providing all out support to the industrialists and all the necessary steps were being ensured to protect their lives and property.
He said with those measures KP and FATA would go towards better development in the days to come. He said with the socio-economic development job opportunities would also be provided to the jobless population. He said the jobless as well as poverty ratio would be reduced with the same efforts both in KP and FATA.
The governor said reopening the Bara closed industries was not only the start of economic activities in the area but the confidence of the investors and tribal population on the efforts of the government as well.
He said repatriation of the IDPs and reopening of the closed industrial units was the starting point of the reconstruction, rehabilitation and economic stability in the tribal areas and the sacrifices offered by the tribesmen would not be ignored at any cost.
He categorically stated that the terrorists would not be allowed to come to the tribal belt again. He disclosed that Rs. 1.5 billion had been allocated for the rehabilitation, reconstruction and infrastructure in the tribal areas.
19 industrialists were given gold medals on their best performance during the 12th Business Excellent Award function while dozens were given certificates and shields.
