QUETTA: Providing health facilities to the masses is among topmost priorities of the government. For this purpose besides treatment, provision of cheap and quality medicines an effective and active system is greatly needed.
This was stated by Balochistan governor Mohammad Khan Achakzai while speaking with Chairman Pakistan pharmaceutical manufacturing Association Hamid Raza here Thursday.
He regretted that those having achieved education of Pharmacy for the sake of financial gains they rent out their licenses to others which deprives of those seeking expertise in this sector which is unhealthy trend and playing with lives of people.
Governor said it is human and national duty to those associated with Pharma Industry to lay their role to remove such negative elements from their ranks as they are hurdle in providing health facilities to the people.
He said people in our province are generally poor and deprived of resources. Manicuring cheap and quality medicines for them is responsibility of society. He said while fixing prices of medicines it should be kept in view not to make difference between rich and poor and prices should be equal for all.
He proposed to health related industries to continue a representative joint core committee and inform government of their difficulties and problems to improve situation.
