Governor directs authorities to suggest new innovative ideas to expedite developmental schemes in FATAJanuary 26, 2015
Peshawar: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor, Sardar Mahtab Ahmad Khan directed the concerned officials to suggest new innovative ideas to expedite various developmental schemes in FATA, planned to be completed till 30th June 2015. He also directed the officials to ensure full utilization of funds and speedy completion of projects.
The Governor directed the administration of FATA to start moving in direction by materializing the concept of regional development package and establishing a model for deprived people of FATA.
This he said in a meeting of Mid Year Review of FATA ADP 2014-15 here at Governor’s House on Tuesday. Additional Chief Secretary FATA, Azam Khan, Secretary Finance FATA, Secretary P&D FATA, Chief Economist P&D FATA, Additional DG Project FATA, Addl. Secretary A.I&C FATA, All Political Agents and other concerned officials were also present on the occasion. Principle Secretary to Governor Mr. Fakhr e Alam also attended the meeting.
During a presentation given by Secretary Planning and Development Mohammad Tariq, it was revealed that in all 941 schemes, 595 are ongoing and 346 are the new ones.
Moreover, it was revealed that out of the total outlay 15372.000 million rupees 5289.83 million rupees had been released to schemes with 47% utilization so far till 31st December 2014. Governor was also briefed about utilization of funds on the basis of various sectors and agencies.
The Governor directed the departments concerned to ensure 100% utilization till 30th June, and urged to hold internal review meetings regularly; coordinate with the works and services department both at the headquarters & Agency level to oversee the progress.
The Governor said FATA needs realistic development and directed the officials to expedite ongoing developmental schemes in FATA. He said that gaps and delay in developmental schemes should be filled up as soon as possible, as people of FATA are in dire need of accelerated pace of developmental activities. While referring to various points, the Governor stressed that concrete steps should be taken to overcome deficiencies.
The Governor instructed the political agents that they must ensure the tribes to utilize closed areas and should build up trust of the people of FATA by accomplishing developmental schemes.
The Governor desired to utilize maximum share of ADP in comparatively deficient areas of the FATA. The Governor also directed the concerned officials to raise forest nurseries and fruit plantation as it will benefit people of FATA for a long time
Further more, he asked the concerned officials to continue work on solarization. Meanwhile the Political Agents apprised the Governor about the impacts of development schemes towards easing life for the people of FATA.
