Governor lays foundation stone of first law varsity of Pakistan

KARACHI: Governor Sindh Dr Ishrat-ul-Ebad Khan on Thursday laid foundation stone of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Law University, Korangi, Karachi.

Talking on the occasion Governor Ebad said it is pleasure for him to lay the foundation stone of this varsity. He said it an honor for Sindh that today it is making the first law university of the country. He said that higher education is the basic requirement for education. He said the law university would help a lot in better dispensing of justice.

Governor said that the Sindh government would support this project and provide all-out cooperation in this regard. He said that 10 years ago there were 19 universities in Sindh which are now more than 50 now.

The vice chancellor of Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Law University, Dr Qazi Khalid said that this university was founded in the leadership of Dr Ishrat-ul-Ebad and it will prove very effective for our upcoming generations.

The provincial ombudsman Asad Ashraf Mailk, advisor higher education Syed Wajahat Ali, Principal Secretary Mohammad Hussain Syed, Hamid Ali, Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, Azhar Farooqi and others were also present.

Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Law University is being constructing on 13.19 acres of land in Korangi area of Karachi with estimated cost of Rs 1025million. The university is expected to be completed in February 2018 but classes would undergo in July 2015 at city campus.

The building of Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Law University would be four-storied, with modern class rooms, library spacious parking area.
