Governor takes notice of recovery of 40 girls in Karachi

Peshawar: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Sardar Mahtab Ahmad Khan telephoned Sindh Chief minister Sayed Qaim Ali Shah after taking serious notice of the news broadcasted and published in national press on Thursday regarding the recovery of 26 minor girls belong to Bajaur Agency from a house at Liaqatabad precinct in Karachi.

He talked to chief minister Sindh to probe into the matter and stressed upon safe and early return of those girls to their homes.

Governor directed the additional chief secretary FATA to conduct a high level inquiry to probe into the matter and take stern action against those responsible.

He said that these innocent and minor girls are like my daughters and directed the officials concerned that girls should not be delivered to irresponsible institutions and asked to take every possible step to ensure the safe handing over of the children to their parents.

He also directed the concerned authorities to investigate the existence of these girls that how they arrived in Karachi. Governor stated that to ensure the safety of girls a high level team of FATA officials will be sent to Karachi.

He also contacted member National assembly from Bajaur Agency, Shahab ud Din Khan and gave him necessary instructions to ensure the safe and early return of minor girls to their homes.
