Govt. accords top priority to higher education: President

Islamabad: President Mamnoon Hussain has reiterated pledge of the government to accord top priority to the promotion of higher education in the country.

He said this during a presentation given to him by Management of Ghulam Ishaq Khan institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology at Aiwan-e-Sadr on Monday.

President said that allocation of record all time high budget of 60.369 billion rupees this year for higher education demonstrate the priority, the government it accords to the promotion of higher education.  He said that the government would invest more in the sector to put the country on path of progress and prosperity.

He urged the country’s leading institutes and universities to focus on setting a standard of excellence in education and research in all fields especially engineering sciences and technology to cope with the growing requirements of knowledge based economy and further promote scientific and technological development.
