KARACHI: The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Friday extended its stay order on execution of environmental impact assessment (EIA) report issued by Sindh Environmental Protection Agency (Sepa) whereby it approved the controversial project entailing construction of a flyover and two underpasses in the Clifton area.

Justice Sajjad Ali Shah, who had headed a division bench of SHC, adjourned the matter till September 26 due to non-availability of Justice Shaukat Ali Memon, a member of the bench. The court extended its stay order on environmental impact assessment approval for the project till next hearing.

The court had granted stay order on the petition filed by DHA through which it challenged SEPA’s environmental impact assessment (EIA) report that accorded its approval to the project.
