ICAP, NUST Business School sign MoUSeptember 9, 2014
KARACHI: Pakistan’s leading accountancy body, Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan (ICAP), has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with one of the leading business education institutions of Pakistan, NUST Business School (NBS) Islamabad, here on Wednesday.
In accordance with this MOU, the graduates of BSc (Honours) Accounting and Finance program at the NBS will be facilitated if they want to become chartered accountants. Upon graduation they will qualify for a more streamlined route which will exempt them from AFC and CAF stages (13 subjects) of CA curriculum.
The MOU was signed by Dr Asif Raza Pro-Rector (Academics) National University of Science and Technology Islamabad and Rashid Ibrahim Vice President ICAP. Speaking on this occasion, Dr Raza said” “This is an important collaboration and a major step forward in education innovation. It will serve to fill an important need of NBS students and will open new horizons for them.”
Vice President ICAP Rashid Ibrahim while expressing his views to the audience communicated how the collaboration was an endeavour to offer dynamic routes of achievement to country’s brilliant youth.
He said that ICAP work-integrated learning would provide a vibrant experience to all graduates who would be well equipped to make a positive contribution toward business, economic and financial sector of the country.
By virtue of this arrangement, NUST will give a novel option to its students whereby their academic degree will lead to a strong professional qualification. Consequently, ICAP will recruit quality graduates with global university exposure within a local context, and a diversified academic background.
Signing ceremony was attended by representatives of ICAP and faculty members of NUST.
