IGP orders action against car lifting

KARACHI: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sindh Ghulam Haider Jamali on Wednesday called SSP Anti Car Lifting Cell (ACLC) for taking strict action against cops involved in car lifting in Baloch Colony Police station limits and reviewed overall performance of ACLC.

He instructed the police officers to ensure departmental action in this regard against the accused and said these kinds of black sheep could not be tolerated in the police department, so police department at all levels should ensure to identify these kinds of element and take action against them.

Jamali instructed SSPs ACLC to activate the helpline 1132, while take action for stopping incidents of car theft, snatching, car lifting, rather ensure to make contacts with other provinces. He instructed for random snap checking at police station levels.

On this occasion, Noman Siddiqui SSP ACLC told that computerized data of vehicles was available on helpline 1132 whereby necessary information was provided only on a one call, as people can sell and purchase their vehicles after verification.
