IGP orders extraordinary security for Deewali

KARACHI: Inspector General Police (IGP) Sindh, Ghulam Haider Jamali, on Monday directed police officer to ensure extraordinary security for upcoming Deewali festivity of Hindu community.

He urged Sindh police to devise an effect plan for security of people taking part in the festivity of Deewali, devotees, organizers, and other prominent personalities at districts and zonal level during three day of festival in collaboration with other security agencies by sharing information, widening intelligence, and giving priority to immediate action.

The IGP further directed all district police officers to hold meetings with representatives and officials of Hindu organizations regarding Deewali security and keep their suggestions in view.

He said that measures, including random snap checking, motorcycle patrolling, and mobile patrolling, should be taken for monitoring areas near temples.

He also urged the public to inform Madadgar 15 call centre, DIGs, SSPs offices or nearby police stations about seeing suspicious person, activity, vehicle, briefcase, parcel, or bag in concerned areas.
