IGP Sindh visits city areas, reviews security measures

KARACHI: Acting Inspector General (IG) of Police Sindh Ghulam Haider Jamali on Tuesday reviewed security measures of different areas of Karachi for protecting life and property.

He visited different areas – Gulshan-e-Gulf Tower, Uzma Shopping Center, Defence, Saddar, Bohri Bazaar, Zaib-u-Nisa Street, and Tariq road.

During visit with high police officials, Jamali visited the police reporting centers in different markets, and issued important instructions to police.

He instructed the police officials to ensure peace, deployment of cops, presence of ambulance, bomb disposal squad and display the important phone numbers on every police reporting center, and ensure steps to redress complaints.

He instructed district SSPs, divisional SPs, DSPs, and SHOs to show presence in their areas during late nights in Ramazan.

He also instructed SP traffic zones and traffic section officers to ensure the follow of traffic in the city and in this regard, deploy traffic police officers at all busy roads, traffic light signals, inter sections, u-turns, shopping centers, parking areas and other alternative routes.
