IGP suspends cops torturing a citizen

KARACHI: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sind Ghulam Haider Jamali on Tuesday suspended police personnel involved in torturing a citizen in front of State Guest House in Karachi.

He ordered DIG South to arrest the policemen involved in torturing a citizen, conduct investigation into the incident and take legal action against them.

According to the statement issued by Sindh police spokesman office, IGP Sindh said that misuse of powers is unacceptable under all circumstances.

Jamali said that police officers should perform their duties in positive manner so that overall measures could be made effective against the crime.
