IGP visits Forensics Laboratory

Karachi: IGP Sindh Ghulam Hyder Jamali on Tuesday visited Forensics Laboratory of Sindh Police and reviewed the ongoing upgradation and development work. He was accompanied by Addl IG Karachi GQThebo, Addl IG Crimes, DIG HQtrs Aleem Jaffery, DIG SRP Dr Amin Yusuf Zai, DIG Traffic, DIG CIA, Zonal DIsG and others.

IG Sindh took round of the facility and AIG Forensics Abdullah Shaikh briefed him about the utility of the services. IG reviewed the progress of construction of a dedicated chemical laboratory and directed to accelerate the ongoing development work.

He also reviewed the working of Documents/Finger Prints analysis cell, SIM/SD cards/mobile data recovery section, Bullet empties analysis room etc.

IG Sindh also directed to start short training courses about crime scene collections and modern Forensics courses for the investigation officers. He further directed to nominate few officers from each district of Karachi to streamline and strengthen the connect between the Forensics experts and local police.

He also inaugurated newly commissioned facility of modern ‘Mobile Forensics Laboratory’. It was informed that the mobile laboratory is equipped with standard facilities and would act as mobile mini Forensics lab. IG Sindh directed to put up practical and relevant recommendations at the earliest for increasing the number of such mobile Forensics laboratories.
