IHC moved to help for information on Aafia’s health

KARACHI: Islamabad High Court would hear the constitutional petition of Dr Fowzia Siddiqui, convener of Aafia Movement Pakistan and sister of Dr Aafia on Friday, October 9, 2015.

Sister of Aafia has filed a petition through her counsel Dr Sajid Qureshi. Citing the Federation of Pakistan, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Government of Pakistan, through its Secretary, Aizaz Chaudhry, Islamabad; the Advisor to the PM on National Security and Foreign Affairs, Sartaj Aziz, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Government of Pakistan, Islamabad; Special Assistant to the PM on Foreign Affairs, Tariq Fatemi, Ministry of Foreign affairs, Government of Pakistan, Islamabad; the Prime Minister’s Office/Secretariat through its Secretary, Islamabad, and Chaudry Nisar Ali, Interior minister, the petitioner has prayed that the respondents may be directed to provide information about the life and health of Dr Aafia Siddiqui, and their efforts regarding her repatriation back home.

It may be noted the family of Dr Aafia has been provided facility to talk to her on telephone for more than one year and the family has grave concerns about her life and health.
