Peshawar: Candidates appeared in test conducted by Educational Testing and Evaluation Agency (ETEA) for positions of teaching assistants across the KP, have complained for reduction in seats, and urged the provincial government to allocate equall seats for each subject and ensure appointment of qualified candidates in the test.
This was stated by a candidate Sahib Gul, while addressing a news conference at press club here on Monday. Flanked by other candidates, include Ihsanur Rehman, Mohammad Farooq, Fayyaz and Mohammad Arif, he said the Directorate of Higher Education, sought applications on March 12 for posts of teaching assistants in various subjects. So, he said the ETEA had conducted an aptitude test for this purpose, in which more than 38,000 candidates were appeared.
Out of the total appeared candidates, he added only 2400 were qualified the ETEA test for the selection of more than 1800 teaching assistants in various subjects across the province He said later these seat were reduced to 1300, on pretext of financial constraints and lack of adequate funds for these posts.
The candidates demanded the Chief Justice Peshawar High Court, and provincial government to take ‘suo-moto’ notice of the appointment of teaching assistants alleged against the merit, otherwise they would compel to move the court.
