Indian BSF firing on villages near border

SIALKOT: Indian Border Security Forces (BSF) today resorted to unprovoked intensified firing on border villages in Phookaliyaan Sector of Sialkot Working Boundary here Wednesday.

According to the senior officials of the Punjab Rangers (PR), the Indian BSF started unprovoked firing with small and big weapons on Sialkot border villages in Phookaliyaan Sector early in this morning, which remained continued till afternoon intermittently here.

Indian BSF targeted the civilian population there. Several houses were reportedly damaged there by Indian firing.

Indian BSF also fired several mortar shells there, out of which some mortal shells landed into local fields and could not explode.

The Punjab Rangers retaliated effectively in befitting manners with matching calibre fires, making the Indian guns silent, the Punjab (PR) Rangers officials added.

No injury of any loss of life was reported, the Punjab Rangers officials confirmed.
