Indonsia likely to purchase Pakistan’s five hundred thousand tons of Irri-6 rice

LARKANA: Indonesia and Pakistan have brotherly cordial relations and their cooperation in the field of trade will continue to flourish. This was stated by Indonesian Consul General Hadi Santoso here on Tuesday at a meeting with the businessmen of Larkana Chamber of Commerce & Industry (LLCI) in their office.

He said that Indonesia has already placed an order for supply of five hundred thousand tons of Irri-6 rice which will only materialize when both countries sign MoUs. The consulate general hoped that relations between the two countries will be further strengthened. He thanked the LCCI for extending invitation to him. Earlier, LCCI President Aslam Shaikh while welcoming the distinguished guest, thanked the Indonesian delegation led by the Consul General and for ordering five lac tons of Sindh rice.

He said that the prices of Pakistan’s rice are lowest in the international market in comparison to other countries and there are chances of more orders. Shaikh further told the guests that Pakistan is annually producing four lac tons of Irri-6 rice out of which three lac tons are produced in Sindh. He also hoped that except this variety, Indonesia will also procure other rice varieties. The guests were presented traditional gifts of Sindhi Ajraks and Caps. AC Larkana Masood Bhutto, PPP office-bearer Khair Mohammad Shaikh, trader Mohammad Suleman Shaikh and others were also present on the occasion.
