Investment in education linked to progress

KARACHI: Former Governor of Sindh, Lt. Gen (rtd) Moinuddin Haider said that investment in education is the only way to progress.

Addressing at sixth convocation of Mohammad Ali Jinnah University as chief guest last evening, he urged the passing out graduates to serve their nation with zeal and commitment.

President, MAJU, Prof. Dr. Abdul Wahab said that educational Institutions should lead the society rather than be its reflection. The educational institutions should be role model.

He said that from 300 students, 4 regular faculty members and one building at the time of his joining this university in 2002, by the grace of God and commitment to our faculty now we have 3000 students, 3 spacious buildings and 60 regular faculty members.

Sindh Minister for education Nisar Ahmad Khuhro, Public Affairs Officer of US Consulate, Mark E Kendrick, British High Commission Director for Sindh and Balochistan Robin Davies also spoke.

About 350 students conferred MBA and BBA degrees in Business Administration and Computer Science discipline on this occasion.

In recognition of services rendered in the field of medical, CEO, Indus Hospital, Dr Abdul Bari khan awarded Honorary Doctorate degree.
