Jamali becomes formal IGP Sindh

KARACHI:Federal government has issued formal notification to appoint Ghulam Haider Jamali as Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sindh here on Thursday. The special police contingent presented guard of honor to newly appointed IGP Sindh at Central Police office (CPO) Karachi.

On the occasion, IGP instructed police to utilize all their talent to establish peace and maintain law and order situation in the province, especially in Karachi. He said that advanced technologies and other facilities should be used in the operational and investigation processes to probe the crimes and get the accused sentenced.

Jamali said police should change Thana culture and restore confidence between the public and police to make citizen policing effective for making further acceleration in the ongoing targeted operation against crimes.

He further instructed that crackdown should be continued on criminals on daily basis and street crime controlled through a devised strategy.
