Peshawar: Jamat-e-Islami and Pakistan Tehree-e-Insaf have mutually resolved the issue of changes in Text Books and decided that all stuff related to Khulafa-e-Rashideen, Ideology of Pakistan and Constitution would again be included in Text Books.

Addressing a news conference here on Thursday Senior Minister Inayatullah said Jamat-e-Islami had serious reservations what he called on the inclusion of such subjects in Text Books which were ultra- constitution and against the ideology of Pakistan.

He clarified that curriculum was finalized in 2006 under light of which subjects and it was agreed upon that Text books would be prepared in light that curriculum however later previous government subjects related to Khulafai Rashideen and Ummatul Momineen were replaced with Helen Killer and other subjects.

Similarly in Social Studies book four class four all subjects related to Khalifas were replaced with Ranjeet Singh saying that JI had no objection to teach Ranjeet Singh’s history but JI had suggested Ranjeet Singh should not be glorified.

Minister said there were other such mistakes in old books like Bangladesh secured independence from Pakistan which is against our history as Bangladesh was created through division of Pakistan.

Minister for education Atif Khan said PTI would not teach anything to the children that would be against Islam and our norms.

He said that PTI did not change the Text Books rather now all subjects related to Islam, Islamic History and Pakistan’s ideology would be included in Text Books as all recommendations of Jamat-e-Islami has been accepted.

He said that there is no issue between the two allied partners as the issue of Curriculum has been resolved amicably.
