JI announces protest against BD conviction

Lahore: Ameer, Jamaat e Islami, Pakistan, Sirajul Haq has appealed the nation to observe Protest Day tomorrow, Friday against the death sentence announced to the JI Bangladesh chief Mutiur Rahman Nizami, by a so called war crime tribunal in Dhaka.

The JI would organize protest rallies in the provincial capitals and in districts all over the country after Friday prayers to condemn the BD tribunal decision.

The JIP chief also stressed upon the Pakistan government to take up the issue of the JI leaders’ trials in Bangladesh with the OIC and pressurize the Dhaka government to stop the mock trials.

In a statement here, Sirajul Haq said that the BD government headed by Haseena Wajid was victimizing the JI leaders and workers whose sole crime was that they supported a united Pakistan. He said all the allegations levelled against the JI leaders were false and baseless.

The JI chief it was unfortunate that the Pakistan government, the OIC, the Muslim countries and the justice loving and human rights bodies were completely silent on this issue.

He expressed the hope that the people would join the protest in large numbers to express their resentment over the unjust treatment being meted out to the pro= Pakistan JI leaders in Bangladesh.
