Lahore: Secretary General, Jamaat e Islami, Liaqat Baloch has said that the statement of Federal Minister Abdul Qadir Baloch regarding the MQM was revealing.

In a statement here, he said that the MQM had won elections by mobilizing the educated, civilized and democratic minded people of Karachi in the name of Mohajir. However, by promoting crime, and culture of extortion, money laundering, and the target killings of Mohajirs, it had made the mega city of Karachi a hostage.

He said the entire responsibility for placing the Mohajirs in this ugly situation lay with Altaf Husain. He was however confident that Karachi would be freed from the clutches of terrorists and brutes, and return to the national mainstream.

Commenting on the reports of a new political alliance,. Liaqat Baloch said that the opposition parties had not decided to evolve an electoral alliance.
