JI demands Rs 10 million for reconstruction of completely damaged houses in earthquake

Peshawar: Jamat-e-Islami on Saturday demanded to declare the earthquake affected areas as calamity hit areas and federal government instead locking for partnership with provincial government should announce handsome packages for the affected areas.

“earthquake has caused a damages on a large scale and damages is more than that have been reported as only in Malakand more than 30 thousands houses are damaged and large number of government buildings and other infrastructures are damages which needs billions of fund for reconstruction,” Mushtaq Ahmad, provincial chief amir of JI and senior provincial minister Inayatullah Khan has told a news conference.

They said that rehabilitation of the affected people needs a coordinated efforts from all people and both provincial and federal government as not only infrastructure is damaged but people’s economy is also badly shattered in the earthquake.

They urged international and national NGOs of joins hands with Al-Khidmat Foundation for rehabilitation of the affected. “We are ready to provide logistical support and man power to every organization which want to help the affected people. These organizations should not wait any more as it will be difficult to reach before the cold weather,” they said.

On this occasion Jamat-e-Islami announced to take care of all orphans of earthquake in “Aghosh” and re-construction all devastated mosques in earth quake affected areas.

To a question senior minister said that government organizations need to expedite their process and complete the distribution of cash amount simultaneously in all affected districts.

Mushtaq Ahmad said the compensation amount for reconstruction of fully damages houses must be one million and 0.5 million for partially damages as prices of construction material prices are very high in the affected areas.
