JI greets SC verdict on Urdu

Lahore: Ameer, Jamaat e Islami, Pakistan, Senator Sirajul Haq, has welcomed the Supreme Court historic order for the enforcement of Urdu and said this was a most auspicious moment for the entire nation.

In a statement here, he said that the JI had had been struggling for the enforcement of Urdu for years and had also observed Urdu Day last week. He said that the Supreme Court’s decision represented the sentiments of the masses.

Sirajul Haq said that the country would soon have its identity.

He urged the federal and provincial governments, the armed forces and civil bureaucracy to implement the apex court decision in letter and spirit. He said that the Cabinet division and the Establishment Division should begin the implementation of the order without any let or hindrance and added that the nation would not tolerate any delay in this respect.

The JI chief said that the competitive examinations should be held in the national language and all correspondence in offices should be also in Urdu.
