Peshawar: Jamat-e-Islami while demanding action against the people involved in alleged misappropriation and violation of merit in appointment of police personnel in Frontier Reserve Police (FRP) demanded resignation of IGP Khyber Pukhtunkhwa Nasir Durrani.

“Inspector General Khyber Pukhtunkhwa should accept the responsibility of this male practice and gross violation of merit in appointment of more than three hundred police constables and resign of his post as he failed to ensure merit in his department,” said JI district Amir Bahrullah advocate while talking to this news agency on Saturday.

Though JI is part of provincial government but his party would not tolerate corruption and violation of merit in appointments, Bahrullah said. “All these three hundred and above police men should immediately be sacked of their jobs as their appointment was made without fulfilling the required criteria,” Baharullah advocate said.

He said that some political personalities involved in these appointments should also be exposed and action should also be taken against them. “We considered that provincial government is equally responsible for this alleged corruption therefore action should be taken against the responsible political figures,” he said.

He said IGP took notice of the male practice in police department after a long period as all these appointees have completed their training and all of them have utilized public resources during their training. “Why IGP failed to ensure transparency in his department, why this malpractice took place when IGP is being given free hand against corrupt elements in his department. IGP should accept his failure and resign of his seat,” he said.
