JI to hold Grand Jirga of NW tribal elders to highlight their demands

Peshawar: Jamat-e-Islami demands deadline for the return of Temporally Displaced Persons expressing the apprehension further prolonging operation would create problems.

Speaking to a news conference Amir JI Khyber Pukhunkhwa Professor Mohammad Ibrahim said Jamat-e-Islami would hold a Grand Jirga of tribal elders of North Waziristan on Thursday to highlight their problems and voice their concerns.

He said nearly one million people of North Waziristan are passing a miserable life since last four months but still there is no dead line as to when operation in North would end and when displaced persons would return to their homes.

DPs, he said now having only one demand and that is to return them to those areas have been cleared in operation adding that people of North Waziristan is no more ready to leave away of their homes.

Professor Ibrahim said Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif should forthwith announce a dead line for the return of DPs to satisfy them.
