KARACHI: Long queues of all kind of vehicles were seen on city’s different roads when a water pipeline burst near Mian University Road and water inundated the road causing a huge traffic jam on Saturday evening.

The roads in areas including Lasbela, KDA, Karsaz, Hassan Square, University Road, Shara-e-Faisal, Johar More, Star Gate, Stadium Road, Tariq Road, Guru Mandir and many other streets were blocked due to heavy traffic congestion which was continued for several hours.

The commuters including old age people, women and children were frustrated due to hours long traffic jams.

Moreover, downtown area of the city faced traffic jams due to protest of sugarcane growers against the powerful sugar mill mafia of Sindh province.

Karachi has no proper road management system that causes trouble for commuters in such emergency situations. The daily based traffic issues must be addressed on priority by authorities concerned, ask citizens.

Traffic police was unable to inform public about the alternate routes that shows inefficiency of the bureaucracy as well.

In these days it has also observed that many roads and streets have no proper sanitation system where gutter lines are wrecked and water pipelines also went broken causing troubles for pedestrians and motorists. There is dire need to replace the old and faulty lines on urgent basis for facilitating public.
