KARACHI: Chairman All Karachi Tajir Ittehad Ateeq Mir has lauded the performance of security agencies during Ramazan and Eid days. He praised police, rangers and administration for controlling the law and order situation in the city. He said that encouraging reduction was seen in the incidents of target killings and robberies in this Ramazan compared to these crimes this month in previous five years.

Mir said that as a result of controlling the law and order situation people, after a long time, stepped out of their houses fearlessly. A big crowd poured in the markets in the first half of the Ramazan.

“The law and order situation in Ramazan and Eid was a welcome move for businesses. The following year Eid sale had broken the record of last five years. Traders had spent more than Rs80 billion this year, while, despite inflation, people bought items worth more than Rs50 billion. Stock at many shops became short,” he said.

Meanwhile, he lamented about the tragic incident of beach picnickers and said that the killings had marred the celebrations of Eid.

“Strict actions should be taken next time to keep people safe and for spreading awareness among citizens,” he said this while expressing condolence with the families of the victims on behalf of the traders.
