Killing of four cops: Accused remanded to police custody

Karachi: An Anti-Terrorism Court-I (ATC-I) on Thursday remanded an accused, Mohammad Roshan alias Roshan Bangali, to police custody till 18th September 2014 in murder case of four police personnel.

Police produced the accused before ATC-I under tight security.

According to the prosecution, the accused was involved in murder of four police personnel, Sub Inspector Afraz Khan, Head constable Mohammad Shafi, constables Deedar Ali and Akhtar Ali in during encounter with police on 3rd February 2014 in Akbar Shah Goth, Ibrahim Haidery with his accomplices, Mir Ghous Ali and Wasi Ahmed Khan who were already arrested.

The Investigation Officer, Zaheer Ahmed, requested the court that police needed his physical custody to trace his connections and other accomplices in the crime. The court accepted the request of police and remanded the accused to police custody for seven days with the direction to produced him on 19th September 2014.

The case (FIR No 30/2014) was registered under Section 302 (premeditated murder and 34 (common intention) of the Pakistan Penal Code read with Section 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act at the Ibrahim Haidery police station.
