KMC officers urged to implement court orders forthwith

KARACHI: Administrator Karachi Rauf Akhtar Farooqui has directed the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation and Karachi Development Authority officers to ensure immediate implementation of court orders and the officers appearing in court, for submission of clarification in different cases, would not be less than the rank of additional director.

He warned that the services of concerned officer would be suspended if lower grade officer was sent for court appearance.

Farooqui said this while addressing a meeting of the KMC, KDA land and law department officers. The administrator urged the officers to fully implement the court orders and demolish all such illegal constructions for which the court orders had been received.

He also directed the focal person of law department to immediately provide a full time lawyer from law department to the KMC and KDA land department so that officers of these departments could have a detailed know-how of the cases and appear in the court with full information about the matter.

The administrator also stressed the need of close coordination between the government lawyers and the department heads so that the issue could be resolved in a better way.

Farooqui also instructed the land department to compile a list of its employees without delay and also mention the parent department of each staff member.

He said the officers must always adhere strictly to the rules and regulations and perform their work with full commitment and dedication.
