KP cabinet approved Amended LB Act empowering ECP for delimitation

Peshawar: Provincial Cabinet has approved amendment in Local Government Act 2014 empowering the Election Commission to conduct delimitation in Khyber Pukhtunkhwa for local government election.

Briefing Media about the Cabinet’s decision, Provincial Minister for information Mushtaq Ghani said Provincial Government is prepared for holding Local Bodies election. He said though Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has done the delimitation and there was no big objection against this delimitation but Election Commission had objection on it. He said it is now up to the Election Commission of Pakistan that how long it will take for delimitation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Minister said that if Election Commission of Pakistan agreed with the delimitation already done by provincial government then the Khyber Pukhtunkhwa government would not hesitate to hold Local Bodies election on November 15, 2014.

Mushtaq Ghani said in order to create awareness about the breast feeding and Child Nutrition. “Breast Feeding and Child Nutrition Act 2014” has been approved by the cabinet under which Packet Milk preparation Companies have been bound to write on their packs that “Formula Milk is not substitute for the Breast Feeding”. He said in violation of such act, 2 years punishment along with 50 thousands fine will be given.

Minister said cabinet also approved to increase the number of Committee members in service tribunal to speed up the hearing of cases of various employees.
