KP govt rise compensation for APS martyrs to Rs 2 million, parents protest outside CM houseJanuary 19, 2015
Peshawar: Khyber Pukhtunkhwa Government on Tuesday announced to rise the compensation for the martyred of Army Public School from Rs 5 lakh to Rs 2 million while injured would be treated abroad if it is recommended by health experts.
Khyber Pukhunkhwa Government also observed the chelum of those martyred during the Taliban attack on the Army Public School at official level and public holiday had been declared in the province.
Family members of all martyred and injured attended a function at Chief Minister’s house where PTI chief Imran also met with parents other relatives of the martyred of APS. Quran Kwani and Dua was offered for the martyred and speedy recovery of the injured students and teachers.
Imran assured that all demands of Shuhada and Ghazi Forum would be accepted and he would stand by bereaved families.
Imran Khan announced that children injured in the attack at the Army Public School would receive treatment abroad if they could not be treated at the Shaukhat Khanum Hospital.
however some of the parents boycotted the function as protest saying officials and one of the MPA had misbehaved with them. Parents said they left the event inside after their protests fell on deaf ears of government officials with one even claiming that he had been pushed by the CM.
“My son has been injured and needs treatment. he needs treatment but the provincial government despite announcing sending him abroad has done nothing for his treatment. One of my child Haris Nawaz was martyred in the attack and other Ahmad Nawaz is in critical condition at LRH. CM annoyed when i complained against the provincial government to Imran Khan,” said a Mohammad Nawaz, father of one of the injured students told reporters outside the CM House.
Mohammad Idress, father of Mohammad Anas said my son had passed through various surgeries as his right arm is totally damage with the bullets. ” officials of CM house humiliated us. Government has announced Rs 2 lakh for treatment of the injured, can this amount is enough to treat my son,” he said adding that like him other parents would not receive this amount in such a humiliated manner.
